12-30-10

Today was one of those days where you go into a WOD expecting it to be bad...but when you get into it it's twice as bad as expected! 3 rounds of 30 Back Squat @ body weight(195), 30 GHD Situps...HOLY HELL! I was wanting my mommy after round 1, and punching pukie in the face at round 2. Homie's legs are SMOKED!

12-29-10

Had a great time getting to hit it with CF Springfield yesterday...want to say thank you to Jeremy,Grant.Melissa, and Meggan for putting off their workout until I got there. It proved to be worth waiting for, and quite painful... 5 rounds of max reps 115# OHS, max reps pullups..my goal was to get 150 reps of OHS(ended up with 151) and just get a solid number of pullups without tearing my hands to shreds(ended up with 100 and change)...there is no truer test of pure guts, than doing a WOD where max reps anything is involved, and actually going to complete failure! If you don't puke, or at least taste puke at some point in the workout, then you need to let your balls drop and man up before you come back and try it again..throughout the WOD 115 felt very good, and was able to move the bar with decent speed the entire time, and pullups were sub par due to already torn hands, but felt really good about how many I was able to get consiquently.

12-27-10

WOD today was BRUTAL...no other word to describe it! Yesterday was a good heavy MET-CON ..went ahead and used 275 for my deadlift, and was able to do the 21's and 9's unbroken and fast. Broke up the 2nd set 8,4,3...felt really good throughout the entire workout! 6:02 was final time.

Today was 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 of 115# Thrusters and 24" stick jumps..thrusters are my nemesis and always prove to hand me my ass properly! All sets were unbroken until set 10 which I broke into 5's...touched the stick about 5 times so I re-done those...final time 6:33

12-26-10

I feel truly blessed to have the family and friends that I have. After a wonderful Christmas, it is time once again to continue training my ass off. Today I am doing a 21-15-9 rep scheme of Deadlift , Pistols, Pullups. I love this rep scheme on Met-Cons, and heavy deads...but the weight is only 275 for deads today. Hip flexors will be shot none the less, so I will definitely be hitting an M-WOD  tonight as well.

Well the 12 Days of Christmas WOD was fun...Time on it was 29:03..I subbed 70# KB with 100# (Qui Qui) and used a 25# Wallball ,,  Barbell weight was 95#.  All was good until I reached round 8, then Qui Qui  had her way with me for the final rounds of the WOD..only the first round of KB's were unbroken, then they got ...ummm HEAVY! Any way want to say thank you to all who came and braved the WOD with me! Merry Christmas!

Yesterday has come and gone...glad to get a bad day over with, but was able to enjoy a PR on split jerk @275. (HEY DUMBA$$...GET UNDER THE BAR!)My met-con was painfully slow in a tune of 6:18( 3 rds of 15 hang squat snatch @ 75#, 15 burpees)...lung buster! Today I am doing an AMRAP in 15 of 10 GHD sit-ups, and 3 muscle-ups...should be a lot of fun because I love muscle-ups!

As goes with anything, when you have good days, you will also have bad days...and today was one of those days. I was having a hard time with clean & jerk today...sub-par performance and 5# under my previous max. Sprained my ankle right before HOA and have been having some issues in flexibility with it. Excuses are contagious and demotivating so on that note I will man up and say that I just need to work on my clean & jerk more and quit being a girlie man and HTFU! My met-con today will be 3 rounds 15 Hang Squat Snatch 75# and 15 Burpees...Ought to be a good time!

12-21-10 REST

After hitting 2 huge PR's this last cycle I am taking a much needed rest day. Nasty Girls proved to be just that...NASTY! Squats were fast and M/U, well they were better than previous M/U's...power cleans were cake!  Final time--5:50      Heavy FRAN...no need to say anymore...it was fast and BRUTAL! My buddy Seth was in for Christmas and we got to go head-to-head on it. The guy is so strong and I knew I had to bust out the pull-ups fast. It had been a long time since I had been pushed that hard in a WOD and it felt great! Ended up besting my previous time by almost 2 minutes. Final time--4:38
